Verulam School have managed to collect 4853 items for Feed. The assemblies promoting the collection were on the idea of worth and how much different items were worth to different people, including Justin Bieber's hair clippings and can of beans. We reflected on the Widow's Mite and how it was her sacrificial giving that prompted Jesus to say she was the one who gave the most. The boys were encouraged to make their own sacrifices. Two Year 8 boys used their own money to buy 118 items; another group used the money they had been given for a Nandos meal to buy Feed items instead; one boy organised a collection in his church while another used his Amazon points to buy items. I'm sure there are many more stories yet to be heard but thank you for all those who sacrificed in order that lives have been changed for the better through Feed.
