Encourage

I have for several years been captivated by the word Encourage, the word when brought literally from the French means to “put heart into”. As the temperatures warm for Summer, the Step team have been busily putting heart into year 6 students, helping them to prepare for the big change to their new schools.
I can remember from my days as an 11 year old, the anticipation of starting my new school looming on life’s horizon like a black cloud. Many positives were to come of course, but during the 3 months prior to the change, it felt difficult to relax and keep my mind away from the worry of the unknown. I wonder what difference a Step Up Day might have made to my 11 year old self.
During the activities during the morning each child considered the moments and people they had encountered along their life journey so far and what these had contributed to them becoming the young people they are today. Then a bracelet was made by each to represent those moments. Please pray for each student that they will take heart from the day and that these moments with each class might contribute a lasting seed towards faith and wellbeing in their futures.
