Is God Real?

That is the question we were discussing today in Explore. Polly, (Children’s and Youth Minister at Holy Trinity), ran a fantastic session which started off with statements such as:
  • Cat’s are better than dogs?
  • From secondary school Math’s should be optional?

Each of us had a mini wild animal figure which we had to place somewhere between yes or no to show where our responses fell on the scale. The final question was: Is God real? Most of our group today sat in the yes space, a couple were right in the middle and one nearer the no end.

We then looked at some statements to see if we felt they had any bearing on our belief around God’s existence.

Interestingly one young person who has been coming to Explore for about a year now normally says that God definitely doesn’t exist and has always been very sceptical about what the Bible says about Jesus. However in todays session she was far more agnostic in her beliefs and felt that although she wasn’t sure if she believed it. She could see some logic in believing that God created the world.

We definitely had some interesting and fun discussions. I’m looking forward to next week!
